REASON

OFFICIAL SELECTION
PHOENIX FILM FESTIVAL - 2007
DRAGON CON INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL - 2006
WINNER
BEST FILM, BEST DIRECTOR, BEST EDITING - IFP 2006

"...an atmospheric ghost tale that could be referred to as a thimbleful of M. Night Shyamalan. Dark, bluish and creepy, “Reason” doesn’t waste a single frame and manages in three minutes to create a puzzle it will take audiences far longer than that to figure out."

-Chris Moore, Editor, The Desert Advocate

Absolutely fantastic! Lighting, camera, editing, titles, style, look -- just amazing! This looks like a real movie! Totally impressive!!!!

-Brian Pulido, Director, International Horror Sci-Fi Film Festival

Another strong and imaginative directorial performance by Bivas Biswas!

- Jae Staats, Director, Almost Famous Film Festival (A3F)

Take "Psycho," shake well with "The Sixth Sense," add a dash of "Memento," "Spun," (or your own favorite drug-addled reality bender here), distill into three minutes, and you have Bivas Biswas' "Reason"--an intriguing psychological thriller that raises several nagging questions for every 15 seconds of screen time. As always, Biswas gets the most out of his actors in the most economical fashion, but with no lack of expressivity. In fact that's where the power comes from, which is then pumped to the max with great  sound editing, shooting--everything. A concise tour-de-force. (And Tara Fisher is the most intriguing (fetching, squealing) find of a victim since Pauline Kael kvelled over Barbara Crampton in Stuart Gordon's schlock-cinema takes on H.P. Lovecraft stories in the '80s.)

-David Tell, Editor / Publisher, Midtown Messenger
