The film tells the tale of Magenta, played by
Cathy Rankin, who has just learned her husband, played by Peter
King, is leaving her. Unfortunately, Magenta’s attempts to murder
her husband are only half accomplished due to a variety of people
coming to her door. She is visited by a Process Server played by
Rudy Martinez, a little girl selling candy played by Katie
McGinley-Colman, her neighbor Tom played by Tom Blackwood, and a
Mormon played by Chris Redish. Once this colorful parade of
characters leaves she notices her half dead husband is missing. The
police, played by Valec Martinez and Arturo Martinez, finally return
her husband after finding him along the side of the street suffering
from a case of amnesia.

Is there an intellectual side to MAGENTA ? since you ask, well...there is none. But if there were to be one, consider this. MAGENTA is an
over-the-top, ridiculous comedy on the social condition of
marriage.
The love has drained out of marriage.
Does it matter if it has taken refuge somewhere else ? Or is Magenta really upset that
the cinderella syndrome is falling apart for her ? Are our daily
distractions aids and/or cues to break out of our daily routine to view the world from a different point of view ? The rookie
cop exhibits social tendencies of overlooking one's own faults
while holding others to higher moral standards when
it comes to social practices that are defined, formed, controlled
and dictated by society. Pete suffers from amnesia in the
end. He forgets everything, well almost. Everything seems normal
with the ability to forget. He makes the mistake of bringing up the
past one more time and gets killed for it. Is it better to harbor a feeling and struggle to
come to terms with it or is it better to forget, wipe something
out of existence in order to nurture and make something else last ?
- MAGENTA,
see the film and tell us what you think.
