"...an atmospheric ghost tale that
could be referred to as a thimbleful of M. Night Shyamalan. Dark, bluish
and creepy, “Reason” doesn’t waste a single frame and manages in
three minutes to create a puzzle it will take audiences far longer than
that to figure out."
-Chris Moore, Editor, The
Desert Advocate
Absolutely fantastic! Lighting, camera,
editing, titles, style, look -- just amazing! This looks like a real
movie! Totally impressive!!!!
-Brian
Pulido, Director, International
Horror Sci-Fi Film Festival
Another strong and imaginative directorial
performance by Bivas Biswas!
- Jae Staats, Director, Almost
Famous Film Festival (A3F)
Take
"Psycho," shake well with "The Sixth Sense," add
a dash of "Memento," "Spun," (or your own
favorite drug-addled reality bender here), distill into three
minutes, and you have Bivas Biswas' "Reason"--an
intriguing psychological thriller that raises several nagging
questions for every 15 seconds of screen time. As always, Biswas
gets the most out of his actors in the most economical fashion, but
with no lack of expressivity. In fact that's where the power comes
from, which is then pumped to the max with great sound
editing, shooting--everything. A concise tour-de-force. (And Tara
Fisher is the most intriguing (fetching, squealing) find of a victim
since Pauline Kael kvelled over Barbara Crampton in Stuart Gordon's
schlock-cinema takes on H.P. Lovecraft stories in the '80s.)

REASON (Synopsis
: 250 Words)
Trapped
in a world inundated with heartache and panic, David is forced to
uncover the truth about his lost love. In the early hours of
the morning, like clockwork, David is attacked by visions of her,
painful glimpses into the disturbing past. The sudden flashes of
what happened on the night of her death haunt and terrify
him. David must be willing to push past his fear in
order to understand the dark details of her untimely death,
or he may find himself doomed to remain in a never-ending circle
of terror. While caught in the blurry reality of confusion, he
wonders if the visions are real or self induced. Could they
possibly be clues to uncovering the cryptic truth? Unfortunately,
David finds he is barely able to speak about the situation with
anybody without sounding absurd, and when he finally does, he is
forced to face the fact that he may be on the road to insanity. Unable
to admit to himself that he may be at the cause of his distress,
David pushes forward on a lonely journey, on a quest for the
truth. What happened to his wife? Is it love or guilt that visits
him in the night? Will he be able to understand what is happening
to him? Is his deceased wife, the only one he can turn to for
answers? As the clock winds down, David will sooner or
later stumble upon the Reason.
